Despite reports of a fat pay cheque for Jackie O in the second season of The Masked Singer, she is not getting $1 million.
But it’s not far off.
She is believed to be the highest paid person on the judging panel for the second season of the show, which returned to air this week.
Jackie’s payment includes expenses and also takes into account the fact that the Channel Ten tv show gets free promotion when Jackie talks about it on her KIIS 106.5 show with Kyle Sandilands. She is featured heavily in the current Network Ten promotional campaign for the series.
With fronting up to the KIIS breakfast show every morning, then taking part in evening filming for the show, Jackie is believed to be working 20 hours per day during the series.
The first episode, which went to air on Monday this week had 1.13 million viewers nationally, but was beaten by Channel 9’s Ninja Warrior, also hosted by a radio identity, 2GB’s Ben Fordham, who is up against Jackie and Kyle in the Sydney radio breakfast time slot. Fordham is also working both ends of the day doing radio in the morning and tv later in the day.
The Masked Singer’s second episode, which aired on Tuesday this week, scored 1.32 million viewers nationally.
With radio ratings currently in the field, both breakfast radio hosts, along with Hit Network drive host Dave Hughes, who is also on the Masked Singer panel, should get a ratings spike from the timely tv coverage.
