James Blunt joins smooth weekend line-up

Singer-songwriter James Blunt returns to smoothfm’s weekend line-up to host his own show on Sunday afternoons from 28 May.

Best known for his hits You’re Beautiful, Goodbye My Lover, 1973, Bonfire Heart and When I Find Love Again, Blunt recently released a new album ‘The Afterlove’ which debuted at number seven in Australia. This follows four previous albums which collectively sold 20 million copies.

Last month Blunt performed Don’t Give Me Those Eyes from the new album at the TV Week Logie Awards, which jumped into the top five in Australia following the performance.

He loves spending time in Australia and shot the video for Don’t Give Me Those Eyes on Sydney’s northern beaches whilst he was here.

“I’ve had a great time in this country, I was so lucky really to come here to hang out on X Factor, lived on Bondi…I’ve been looked after phenomenally by the Aussies, toured here so many times, so I’m always incredibly grateful to be back, thanks for having me,” Blunt said.

Blunt will join Ed Sheeran on his American tour next month before headlining his own tour through Europe and the UK.

Blunt joins a star-studded line-up of smoothfm guest hosts including Dolly Parton, Barry Gibb, Neil Diamond, Elton John and Olivia Newton-John.

James Blunt can be heard on smoothfm 95.3 Sydney, smoothfm 91.5 Melbourne and on smoothfm DAB+ from Sunday 28 May to Sunday 18 June from 4pm.
