Jason Hawkins and Lauren Phillips with news reader Clint Stanaway emotionally announced their departure at the end of this year from breakfast on KIIS 101.1, with Kyle and Jackie O syndicated their show into Melbourne from 2024.

Phillips said:

It’s certainly not the way we wanted to bow out. We didn’t have a choice. It’s a business decision. We don’t want to say goodbye to Melbourne, we love this show. We love turning up every morning. We didn’t have to be here this morning to make this announcement, but we’re here.”

Phillips, Hawkins and Stanaway were only advised of the decision the night previously with the team thanking their producers and listeners. They finish next Friday December 1st.
