Jase & Lauren are Cruising for a Cause

KIIS 101.1’s Jase & Lauren are Cruising for a Cause alongside Cancer Council Victoria this October, raising money for live-saving research, prevention and support.

Starting on October 16, Jase HawkinsLauren Phillips and newsreader Clint Stanaway will take their very own caravan to the streets of Melbourne, inviting listeners to join them and share stories about how cancer has affected their lives.

The cause hits close to home for co-host Jase Hawkins who lost his father to the illness.

My dad loved caravanning and our long road-trips are some of my favourite memories with him,” he said.

To be able to combine his love of the outdoors with raising awareness and funds for all the amazing work Cancer Council Victoria does in the community honestly means so much to me.

An average of 101 Victorians are diagnosed with cancer every day.

Although the number of cases will increase as our population grows and ages, the five-year survival rate for Victorians diagnosed with cancer has increased by 22% over the past twenty years – that’s why ongoing funding is essential to ensure that organisations such as Cancer Council Victoria can continue to improve outcomes.

Cancer Council Victoria CEO, Todd Harper AM, said, “We’re thrilled to see Jase & Lauren Cruising for a Cause for Cancer Council Victoria.”

With almost 1 in 2 of us diagnosed by the time we’re 85, cancer affects all of us

It’s because of generous support like this that we can continue our vital work.”
