Jesse Mulligan shows how it’s done when someone steps on your radio toes

This morning in New Zealand Matt Heath announced on air that he was leaving the Radio Hauraki breakfast show he has co-hosts with Jeremy Wells, to head to afternoons on Newstalk ZB, hosting alongside Tyler Adams.

This is big news.

Matt, a writer, producer, actor, sports commentator and front man for rock band Deja Voodoo, had been on Radio Hauraki breakfast, a music show, for 11 years.

This would bring him into direct competition with the national broadcaster RNZ‘s afternoon announcer Jesse Mulligan (pictured).

In Australia, when Jase and Lauren joined Nova 100 there was some gamesmanship from Kyle and Jackie O at KIIS 101.1 who has replaced Jase and Lauren, where the K&J bus turned up at events Jase and Lauren were hosting. Sammy J from ABC Melbourne breakfast also had a subtle dig at K&J too.

So what did Jesse Mulligan do?

He took to Linkedin to make his feelings known, in one of the best, funniest, backhanded compliments I’ve read.

That’s how you stir a pot!
