Alan Jones’ legal team back in court

A Sydney court has been told lawyers for Alan Jones have grave concerns about the legality of the search of his phone by police.

The former 2GB broadcaster is currently on bail, charged with 35 historical sexual assault offences. The 84-year-old has denied all wrongdoing

In a brief hearing before magistrate Jennifer Giles yesterday, Jones’s lawyer said he also had an issue with an apparent delay in providing the defence with the entire brief of evidence.

An extension of the charge certification process was granted and will now be heard on 18 September.
