Know your worth: Jackie O at #RDE25

“Jackie and I are “besties” and we share everything including the same psychologist!” said Gemma O’Neill, speaking at RadioDays Europe.

“It was after we’d both been through a relationship break up, we were both struggling and questioning why we’re drawn to men that weren’t good for us,” Gemma said when asked by Real FM’s Ioannis Vasilopoulous what led to starting their podcast, “Her Best Life.

Jackie said: “I’d always been drawn to trying the podcast format as a way of deep diving into topics and wanted both Gemma and I to share our learnings and our process of self discovery.”

Jackie and Gemma were part of each other’s healing journey as they both faced divorce, the pain of separation from children and disappointment in love.

“We’d both been feeling vulnerable and started to think that if we shared our feelings in the podcast, listeners would benefit through knowing that Jackie O’s life was not as perfect as it was portrayed in the media, but that we were both trying to work on self knowledge and relationships,” said Gemma.

Our psychologist Dr Justine Corry and her colleague Dr Gemma Gladstone developed The Red Flag Project which we completed and found invaluable. It helps woman recognise healthy relationships and raises questions like,  “What to look out for when dating? Why do you keep attracting the same types of guy?“ We collaborated with them to make the program more user friendly because we wanted more women to have access.

Jackie and Gemma thought women also needed to have the tools to negotiate more effectively, so Gemma used her expertise, having negotiated Kyle and Jackie’s contract, to devise an online negotiation course. “The course is easy, quick and effectively helps woman to negotiate… it encourages woman to know their self worth.”

It seems that men have also benefited from doing the course just as they have also discovered, Her Best Life. The audience has grown quickly this last 6 months and they were surprised to find that it’s now 30% male. “Men are getting female insider info about what woman want in sex,” said Jackie. “And how to treat women in relationships,” added Gemma as they both laughed.

KIIS FM’s Jackie O and Gemma O’Neill were interviewed at Radio Days Europe the same weekend as International Woman’s Day. All three projects benefit woman in different ways.
