Krocks Big Ute gets the PM’s approval

Krock 955‘s drive team, Herbie and Josh, began a campaign in September to boost tourism to Geelong and the Surf Coast after being hit hard by COVID lockdowns.

After some recommendations from listeners and a vote they settled on the idea of building a Big Ute in Geelong.

The 1934 Ford Ute was designed and created in Geelong, so after getting the signatures required, a petition was presented to council and a unanimous decision followed to grant a feasibility study into pairing the Big Ute with the motoring museum in Geelong.

Fast forward to December, Herbie and Josh’s Big Ute has received support from Deputy Opposition Leader and Member for Corio Richard Marles, Victorian State Premier Daniel Andrews, State Opposition Leader Matthew Guy, Federal Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese, and finally Prime Minister Scott Morrison who claims to “Love Utes.”
