Voting in triple j’s Hottest 100 is officially open

The triple j Hottest 100 claims to be the biggest radio event of its kind, with over 7 million Australians over the age of 16 engaging with the campaign in some way, culminating in a massive day on January 22nd when triple j will count them down.

The Glass AnimalsG FlipBaker Boy and Holy Holy were asked who they are voting for as their #1 track of the year.

Glass Animals: “The first half of 2021 was pretty dark with lockdowns and winter in the UK. But then summer hit, and along with it Pa Salieu dropped this banger. ‘Glidin’’ felt like a perfect song to break out and get life going again. It’s a wicked piece of music by an incredible artist, but it also marked an important moment. That’s why it’s our track of the year.”

G Flip: “I always love everything that Holly Humberstone puts and ‘The Walls Are Way Too Thin’ is my number one track this year. I’m obsessed with her sound and love her lyrics… I send her hectic voice memos telling her how great she is on Insta and she doesn’t reply but it’s okay… still a mad fan.”

Baker Boy: “My Life by J. Cole just hits home for me. I feel like I can just really relate to it. It hasn’t always been the easiest or smoothest road to where I am, I can kind of relate to that struggle. And now it can be hard not falling into what other people want me to be, and let’s be honest, it’s just a banger!”

Holy Holy: “We love ‘Get Me Out’ by King Stingray so much. It has so much feeling in it. It’s beautiful, expansive and real. Great melodies and lyrics and singing about the need to get out of the city and connect with country is a powerful theme that we can all relate to – especially this year. Huge fans of King Stingray.”
