Kylie Minogue to tour Australia, but Fev knew it first

It has been five long years since Kylie Minogue toured Australia. She accidentally let slip on The Fox 101.9‘s breakfast show with Fifi, Fev and Nick that she’ll soon be returning. This was no surprise to Brendan Fevola though. He’s known for months!

Minogue has had an amazing year with her album Tension and the song Padam Padam achieving international success, she won her first Grammy in 20 years for Best Dance Recording and just turned back time with a stellar performance in London’s Hyde Park.

Minogue’s last tour was a 7-show ‘Golden Tour’ in 2019.

She spoke from London with Fifi, Fev and Nick this morning about coming home, the recent campaign to have a Melbourne laneway named after her and her sister, Dannii, her new single and then got caught on the hop when asked about the potential of playing at the MCG:

Fev: “Are you going to tour Australia? Is that on the cards?”

Kylie: “Uh… I want to say yes. Yes. The answer is yes!  We’re just locking down details.”

Fev: “Yes, that’s exciting!”

Kylie: “Maybe I wasn’t meant to say that, but yes!”

Fifi: “I love that you said that because we have a rumour mill on our show – Fev gets DM’s. He did say that about two months ago you were coming our way! So, we’ve just had that confirmed.”

Kylie: “Oh, so if I want to know something, I’ll just slide into Fev’s DM’s and ask.”

Fev: “Now, Kylie, you are a Melbourne girl. You didn’t live too far from the MCG. When you tour, would you love to play at the MCG and sell that out?”

Kylie: “That’s another dream. One day that would be incredible, for sure.”

Fev: “You’d be able to sell that out, for sure.”

Kylie: “Well, if you invite all your friends! You guys are pretty popular.”

Fifi: “You’re (Fev) just trying to make more rumours that you can spread! (laughs)

You can listen to the whole interview above.

You may recall that via that rumour mill, or some other means, Brendan Fevola was the first to state that Kyle and Jackie O would take their KIIS 106.5 Sydney breakfast show into Melbourne on 101.1, some three months before any official announcement. Maybe Kylie is right and if we want to know what’s happening in Melbourne in the future, ask Fev!
