Kylie was Australian Radio’s most played artist

The PPCA (Phonographic Performance Company of Australia) has named Kylie as the most broadcast artist in its annual list of the top 50 singers broadcast on Australian radio.

It’s the second year Kylie has taken out this title. The list is based on playlist data from the 2002/2003 financial year.

Taxiride topped that list with the single ‘Creepin’ Up Slowly.’

Delta Goodrem made the list with her first two singles, ‘Born To
Try’ at number 8, and ‘Lost Without You’ at 11.

Other Aussie artists to feature in the list include: Disco Montego, The Androids, Holy Valance, Motor Ace, Amiel, Dannii Minogue, Silverchair, INXS, Bachelor Girl and
Grinspoon – showing Australian radio’s support for home grown artists.

Pop is still the most popular music style in radio playlists. The Beatles, Santana, Elton John, The Rolling Stones and Fleetwood Mac also made the top 50 artists’ list.

On ARIA’s consolidated 2003 charts, the top single was ANGELS BROUGHT ME HERE by Guy Sebastian and The top album was INNOCENT EYES by Delta Goodrem.
