An ambulance was called for John Laws last Saturday night when he collapsed after dining at his local restaurant, Otto.

According to insiders he had just had the plaster taken off the leg he broke on holidays after slipping on ice in St Petersburg.

His legs gave way from under him at around 11 pm when he stood up after a meal for the short stroll to his Woolloomooloo apartment which is located on the same finger wharf as Otto.

At one time, Laws was a part owner of the high class Italian eatery and could be seen there most nights dining with his wife Caroline.

Laws reportedly sent the ambulance away and is at home recuperating.
