Former 96five Brisbane PD Liam Renton is the new Promotions Manager of Hot91/Zinc FM on the Sunshine Coast.

“I’m super excited to be working with legendary PD Ross Turner, whom I know we both have a love for creating great, engaging and memorable radio promotions,” says Renton.

 Liam is a sunny coast local, who grew up in Palmwoods, went to school in Maroochydore and worked as a columnist for the Sunshine Coast Daily as one of his first jobs in media.

 “I know and love the coast, and get what makes locals tick. I am one, but I can’t reveal the exact spot where my Dad and I went fishing last week on the Maroochydore River. We caught 6 Bream, where the fish are biting is  a family secret”.

Renton now finds himself competing with his former mentor and Group PD Rod Brice who has taken the reigns over the road at Mix/Sea FM.

“I loved working for Rod, He was one of the most generous and lovely guys to learn from. I’m hoping now we’re in opposite buildings he’ll still allow me to shout him the occasional coffee and dissect each other’s wins and achievements, like the radio nerds we’ve always been.”
