Life FM is hosting the inaugural Op Till You Drop market this Saturday June 7, with all your favourite thrift shops in one place at the historic Harts Mill in Port Adelaide. Proceeds supporting churches, charities and Life FM, a community-funded not-for-profit.
The market will have fashion, books, bric-a-brac, food trucks, and free barista coffee and local music. For the kids there’s entertainment and face painting. Doors open at 10:00 am and close at 4:00 pm.
Life FM Operations Manager Lorrene McClymont has wanted to create this day for a long time. She said:
“It started as just an idea for a market for community craft groups to come together, but as the cost of living crisis continued to impact families and not-for-profits across Australia, and sustainability has become a massive focus across society, we thought what if we could create a market that supports all of those areas, and brings everyone together?”
Vendors include The Salvation Army, Vinnies, RSPCA’s Op Shop, Nu4U, Puddle Jumpers and Sustainable Clothing Co. Life FM is involved in many community projects, including Buddy Blankets, in partnership with the Salvation Army and other local churches, where listeners can recycle their chip packets, which the Life FM team then turn into blankets for those sleeping rough.
