Luke and Carley take over Hit’s regional workdays

Luke Lum and Carley Whittington take over the Hit Network’s Workdays across 27 regional markets from today, Monday August 12.

Luke will be heard from 9am-10am, and for the next three months Carley will be heard 10am-3pm weekdays before Maddy Rowe takes over the 10am – 3pm shift in November.

Luke who has been holding the fort for workdays in Townsville since 2014 has a real love for music, something which drove him to pursue a career in radio and says, “This is a huge opportunity and I’m really looking forward to being able to share my passion for music with the rest of regional Australia.”

Carley, who joined Hit in 2015 as the voice of breakfast in Mt Isa, before changing her alarm to Workday hours in 2017 and says, “What an exciting opportunity to entertain-and hopefully not distract- regional Australia on the Hit Network while they work. Keep an ear out for the occasional Kath & Kim joke.”

From November, emerging radio talent and singer/songwriter Maddy Rowe will relocate from her hometown of Melbourne to take over the 10am – 3pm workday slot from Carley.

“I’m beyond excited to be joining the team at Hit 103.1 Townsville, and equally (if not more excited) to be escaping Melbourne’s freezing cold winter. Townsville is hot, sweaty and beautiful, and exactly where I need to be. This is a huge opportunity and I’m ready to thrive in this new chapter of my life.

“I started my radio journey in community radio in Melbourne less than two years ago, and scoring an on-air role with SCA was always a big dream of mine. I’m still pinching myself.”

Luke & Carley can be heard on the Hit Network in the following markets: Cairns, Coffs Harbour, Fraser Coast, Griffith, Mackay/Whitsunday, Mildura, Mount Isa, Mt Gambier, Orange, Port Macquarie, Shepparton, Mt Buller, Townsville, Wagga Wagga.

In additional Carley’s workday shift can be heard on in Hit Network in: Albury, Bendigo, Mareeba, Central QLD, Dubbo, Emerald, Gippsland, Toowoomba, Dalby, Kingaroy, Roma, Stanthorpe, Warwick.
