Macquarie Media has expanded its cricket broadcast commentary line-up for this summer that will feature some of the game’s most-recognised names and include all the biggest local and international cricket matches.
This is the fourth season of the Macquarie Media cricket broadcasts.
Macquarie Radio’s Summer of Cricket is a world-class expert cricket commentary team and will include Ian Chappell, Glenn McGrath, Damien Fleming, Dean Jones, Greg Matthews, Carl Rackemann, Tom Moody, Barry Richards, John Emburey and, new to the team this season, ‘Mr Cricket’ Mike Hussey.
Mike Hussey said: “It’s very exciting and an honour to join such an illustrious group of former stars of our great game and be a part of Macquarie’s cricket commentary team.
“Having only just finished playing I’m looking forward to comparing my views on cricket at the highest level with these guys. I know their commentary style is that of very robust debate, which the listeners enjoy. They are all very different personalities, and I’ll be aiming to bring yet another perspective to what promises to be a fascinating summer for Australian cricket.”
Bruce Eva, Head of Macquarie Radio’s Summer of Cricket, said: “We are delighted to add Mike to our team of experts – a team which already sets the standard in cricket broadcasting for the depth of its analysis, forthright opinions, accuracy, colour and entertainment.
“Mike represented Australia across all three formats of the game in more than 300 matches, and was loved and respected by the cricketing public for his precision, courage and class. He will need all of those traits when locking horns with his co-commentators as they dissect all of the summer’s biggest battles.”
Eva is joined by Tim Lane (Best Sport Broadcaster – ACRA’s), Tony Leonard, Karl Langdon, Peter Psaltis and Mark Levy as the network’s ball-by-ball commentators, and will cover the Tests, One-Day Internationals and International T20’s, as well as exclusive coverage of every Big Bash League match.
The network’s cricket coverage continues on November 24th, with Australia vs South Africa in the third Test live from the Adelaide Oval*.
