Mathieu Ravier has been appointed AFTRS Director, Partnerships & Development.

This division of AFTRS is responsible for industry partnerships and training, alumni engagement, business development, marketing and communications, as well as the School’s student recruitment and admissions.

Matt has spent 25 years in the screen and cultural sectors, working for both business and non-profits as well as at State and Federal government organisations.

He takes up the position on the leadership team at AFTRS this week after four and a half years as Chief Engagement Officer of the National Film and Sound Archive of Australia.

Born in France, Matt has lived in the US, Japan, Canada, Hong Kong and the UK before settling in Australia.

He says, “I’ve dedicated my career to championing the work of storytellers and connecting them with opportunities to learn, create and share. I look forward to driving strategic partnerships to strengthen the School’s industry-partnered learning, alumni community and national reach,” Matt said.

“In the 50 years since it was established, AFTRS has played a central role in developing successful Australian screen and broadcast industries. As these industries transform, there is a generational opportunity to build lifelong career pathways for the brave, innovative and diverse storytellers, producers and crews who will shape the next 50 years.”

AFTRS CEO, Dr. Nell Greenwood, says, “Matt brings an incredible breadth of experience.  He has a fantastic track record in building strategic partnerships, both nationally and internationally and driving really exciting, impactful initiatives.  We’re delighted to welcome him to AFTRS!”
