Maz Compton wins Cosmo Award

Maz Compton has won the Radio Category of Cosmopolitan’s Fun, Fearless Female Awards.

The award was announced today at Otto Ristorante at Woolloomooloo Bay Sydney.

Now in its eighth year, the Fun, Fearless Female Awards celebrate modern, Australian women who perfectly capture the Cosmo way of life. Celebrating daring ambition and outstanding achievements, the awards honour those who have made an outstanding contribution in their field.

Major event sponsor CoverGirl gave the event a touch of its colorful beauty mantra with hot-pink details, while gorgeous blooms by Mr Cook completed the fabulously feminine event. Each guest took home a personalised compact mirror as well as crazy-heavy gift bags filled to the brim with CoverGirl products, Palm Beach Collection candles and a copy of Lena Dunham’s new book, Not that Kind of Girl, among many other goodies.

Otto Ristorante head chef Richard Ptacnik prepared an exclusive menu for the event, featuring modern Italian fare, accompanied by fruity bubbles of event sponsor Henkell.

This year, over 80 nominees across eight categories were in the running to be crowned the 2014 Fun, Fearless Female of the year, with winners selected from each category. Making their mark and inspiring others, the talented women all deserve recognition for the amazing contribution they make to their communities. A Hall of Fame award was also added this year, with the first recipient being Lisa Wilkinson, host of breakfast show Today and former magazine editor, who was recognised for her exemplary contribution as a powerful female voice in the Australian media and for being a stand-out role model for young, ambitious women.
