New Zealand’s MediaWorks has appointed Wayne Stevenson as its new board chair.

Stevenson has been acting as interim chair since August 2021 and first joined the MediaWorks board in late 2019.

The majority of his executive career was spent in banking and finance with ANZ in both Australia and internationally. Over the past 10 years since leaving ANZ he has developed a diverse portfolio of board directorships spanning banking, insurance, payments, technology, sales enablement and media.

He says, “I’m delighted to be confirmed as MediaWorks’ new board chair as the company hits the ground running in 2022. My focus as chair will be to continue the work we have been doing over recent times to improve the company for our audiences, customers, and staff. Importantly our renewed vision, purpose and values, together with a range of other initiatives such as Today FM have reset our agenda for the next few years and created a new level of energy and passion within MediaWorks.
