MediaWorks will launch a new radio talk brand next year

New Zealand’s MediaWorks is launching a new talk radio brand in 2022 headed by new breakfast host, current Newshub political editor Tova O’Brien.

MediaWorks Director of News & Talk Dallas Gurney says, “Tova is one of the finest journalists in the country. She’s heavily plugged into the political scene, is a formidable interviewer and we know will be an awesome breakfast radio host.”

“With Tova you are never far away from a breaking story and MediaWorks is thrilled to have her on board to lead our new lineup at breakfast.”

Tova says, “This is an incredible once in a lifetime opportunity to be part of something new, different and exciting. We’re building something special here and I can’t wait to get on-air.”

Duncan Garner and Rachel Smalley will also be hosting shows on the new brand.

Duncan has spent more than 20 years working across TV and radio, most recently as the host of The AM Show.

Rachel also has an extensive radio, TV and digital print background, working in the media industry for more than two decades.

MediaWorks will share more details on the new brand, launch date and other host appointments in due course.
