Melbourne’s Hamish & Andy to hit Brisbane airwaves

In just a few weeks Hamish (Blake) and Andy (Lee) will be heard in the drive slot (4pm to 6pm) on Brisbane’s B105 FM.

Hamish & Andy are currently Melbourne’s number one FM drive time radio show.

They are promising to interview the biggest stars in town breaking all the rules along the way plus feature crosses to the show’s overseas regulars, such as Fiona Horne, as she reports on the high life and attends the biggest parties in LA. They will also cross to their mate Brad Blanks in New York. They say they will also continue to ask the really important questions in the Trivial Claims Court like “what is the cut-off height for a midget?”

In 2001 Hamish and Andy first met at Melbourne University where they both were studying commerce – quite poorly. They fell in love – with comedy on the airwaves – and in no time had their own show on the community radio station SYN FM. That same year they created a TV show called Radio Karate for Channel 31 and hit the stand up comedy circuit in and around Melbourne.

Hamish was introduced to FOX FM in 2003 when he started writing for their breakfast show.

The pair got their first on-air gig with Melbourne’s FOX in 2003 with ‘The Almost Tuesday Show’, broadcasting on Monday nights between 10pm and 12am. This was so successful that FOX moved the boys to Saturday mornings in 2004 when Hamish and Andy launched ‘The Almost Midday Show’. By 2005 the show was national, broadcasting live in Sydney, Perth, Brisbane and Adelaide.

Hamish and Andy regularly appear on television including ‘Spicks and Specks’ (ABC) and will launch their own ‘mockumentary’ style program on Network Ten this year. Hamish also writes his own column in Cosmopolitan magazine and has appeared recently on the Channel 10 hit series, Thank God You’re Here, while Andy continues to enjoy success with his band Zoophyte.
