Melody Moko the new host of Saturday Night Country

ABC Country have announced acclaimed singer-songwriter Melody Moko as the new host of Saturday Night Country. Melody succeeds Beccy Cole with her first program is Saturday March 7 via ABC Country and ABC Radio.

Across her career, Melody has carved out a reputation for her songwriting and storytelling as well as being a committed advocate for women, gender diverse and emerging artists, mentoring rising local talent as a Group Leader at the CMAA Academy of Country Music. She has produced the podcasts Parenting Done Rightish and Woman Enough, performed at the Golden Guitar Awards, showcased at Americana Fest in Nashville, and toured with artists including Don Walker, Troy Cassar-Daley and Fanny Lumsden.

Beccy’s boots are some big ones to fill, and I look forward to strapping on my own version of them and doing her proud. Saturday Night Country has a huge legacy, I hope to honour that and I’m excited to be offered the chance to share my love for the show, and country music with the listeners.”

Saturday Night Country continues its 30-year legacy of championing and celebrating the full breadth of Australian country music, from emerging voices to industry icons, as well as showcasing the best country music from across the globe.

Saturday Night Country with Melody Moko commences Saturday March 7 from 9pm AEDT, listen on FM, AM, or DAB+ via ABC Country and on ABC Radio across the country, or via ABC listen. Beccy Cole’s final show is this Saturday February 28 from 9pm AEDT.
