Merrick and Rosso Break Adelaide Silence

Adelaide radio listeners have been given a taste of what to expect from their newest FM station, NOVA 919.

Breakfast radio ‘lightweights’, Merrick and Rosso, were heard for the first time this morning on NOVA 919.

The show is being broadcast from sister station, NOVA 969 in Sydney, and will remain on air while new studios are built and the full station team is assembled before the official launch later this year.

While the show is the Sydney breakfast program, Sam Thompson, DMG’s Group Promotions & Marketing Director, says: “we’re basically just mucking around and having a bit of fun. Merrick and Rosso love Adelaide – and they thought it was better to have them on than three hours of silence!”

Merrick Watts says: “we really thought silence had the edge on us for a while, but our pitch, ‘Merrick and Rosso – Better than Nothing’ really struck a chord and convinced the team at NOVA 919 that we could really give silence a run for its money!”

His partner, Tim Ross has elected to hedge his bets and is staying silent on the matter, in line with their pitch.

Merrick and Rosso are no strangers to Adelaide, after many successful stand up tours, plus their weekly TV show “Unplanned”.

After 9am, NOVA 919 is counting down more than 10 000 songs in a row (basically non-stop music, 9am-6am, and right across Easter).
