There’s nothing new about a radio show doing an OB from the opening of a new store.
But Chrissie and Jane and the team are putting a twist on things with their Mix 101.1 Salsa’s New Life Starter competition – they’re giving the whole store away.
Mix 101.1 will be shutting down Waterloo Place – off Bridge Road – between 6am and 9am on Friday for a Mexican Fiesta – which will feature Salsa’s Mexican food giveaways, salsa and mariachi bands, some piñatas – and a chance to win a trip to Mexico.
Three finalists have been selected and announced on air through the week. On Friday, one will become the new owner of the Salsa Fresh Mex store in Richmond. It’s the biggest promotion for Mix 101.1 for the year.

All three finalists have been put through their paces at a “Salsa’s camp” on the weekend learning about the company and what’s required to run a small business.
