Mix and Sea Sunshine Coast up for sale

Fulfilling its commitment to comply with all regulatory requirements for the acquisition of Austereo, Southern Cross Media has put its Mix and Sea FM Sunshine Coast stations on the market. Rhys Holleran has told radioinfo: “We are proceeding on schedule and have been very happy with the interest shown. It’s a great business with great people.” There are now three radio businesses for sale in Australia, Brad Smart’s regional stations (now under offer from John Singleton), Fairfax Radio Network, and the two Sunshine Coast stations.

Mix and Sea are in the thriving holiday and retirement region just north of Brisbane and have delivered good profits to Southern Cross over the years.

The sales announcement for the Sunshine Coast Radio Centre stations reads:

As a result of its successful acquisition of Austereo, Southern Cross Media is required to divest the two commercial radio statios (call signs 4SEE and 4SSS) it owns and operates on the Sunshine Coast (Nambour RA 1 Licence Area) The stations are profitable with excellent growth potential.
