Music crossovers on Sydney radio after Nova changes its daytime rotations

Nova and KIIS share 23.8% of their playlist.

Comparing the playlists of Sydney radio stations after Nova96.9 adopted its ‘Greatest Hits Throughout the Workday’ early last week, here are the crossovers between Nova and 2Day, KIIS1065, WSFM and Triple M Sydney.

Nova seems to have increased the rotation of its recurrent category to make the at-work timeslot a bit older, with more songs from last decade now being played through the workday.

During the past week, Nova shared the most songs with KIIS – with 85 tracks heard on both stations, or 23.8% of their playlist. Nova spun a greater range, the most played song on both stations was Kygo & Miguel’s ‘Remind Me To Forget’ earning 28 spins.

After adopting a new music format earlier in the year, 2Day had a 15.9% crossover with Nova. 2Day played a wider range of hits last week, spinning 303 tracks not played on Nova. ‘Hurt Somebody’, the popular collaboration from Noah Kahan and Julia Michaels was the most heard song between the two stations.

The changes to Nova’s playlist were not shared by WSFM or Triple M with the staions sharing 2% and 1.1% of songs respectively.

There were only 12 tracks played on both WSFM and Nova, while Triple M was even lower with 6 shared songs.
