Musical chairs – big on-air changes at Nova 969

Across the board on-air changes for 2006 have been announced by Sydney Nova 969.

Rabbit will be getting up a few hours earlier to host mornings from 9am-12Noon from his previous 12noon-4pm slot which will now be hosted Lizzy Lovette.

Bianca Dye will move from mornings to join current drive presenter Tim Blackwell for the drive home from work 4pm-7pm.

Then from 7pm, a contentious point was solved by the toss of a coin as to whether it should be either “Heads” making it The Fridgy & Matty Show or “Tales” it would be The Matty & Fridgy Show. “Heads” came up, so from 7pm-10pm it’s the Nova 969 Fridgy & Matty Show.

Hosts Paul ‘Fridgy’ Hancock and Matt Baseley (both ex-Nova Casanovas and more recently, late night hosts on Gosford’s Star 1045) are excited, but are “just quietly sh*t-ing themselves about their new fulltime gig.”

Previous evening host David Campbell left last year to take his music on the road.

Nova 969 program director Scott Muller told radioinfo that the station had been running different shift changes as an experiment in November which had worked exceptionally well and out of that came the current line-up.

When radioinfo asked what the general reaction to the changes had been he said there had been no rumblings of discontent. “In fact everyone couldn’t be happier about the new challenges ahead for 2006.”

The new line-up begins Monday January 9th.
