Nation Broadcasting launches new audio app with All In Media: RDE24

Radiodays Europe exhibitor Jason Malaure from All In Media unveiled one of the company’s new developments at the 2024 conference in Munich.

UK commercial radio company Nation Broadcasting, in collaboration with All In Media (AIM), has launched a new radio and audio app designed to offer a superior mobile and in-car listening experience in the UK.

The app aims to be a one-stop solution for listeners looking to effortlessly navigate between commercial radio stations and podcasts. It is designed to either complement existing radio station apps or serve as the primary app for users.

Aptly titled ‘Nation Player,’ the new aggregator app, which is powered by AIM Player technology, is open to radio operators and major podcast producers who want to reach a UK audience in the home, on mobile and in the car.

Nation Player brings an optimum audio experience to UK audiences. For example, if a listener wishes to switch between commercial stations or podcasts, they can do so. The Nation Player app can be used alongside a radio station’s existing app. The open platform also welcomes non-UK radio stations to ensure a diverse array of content catering to varied interests while maintaining a user-friendly experience.

A variety of independent stations and groups, including Tindle Radio, Sunrise Radio, Fun Kids, Panjab Radio and Podcast Radio, among others, have signed up to join the platform, which offers a range of off the shelf app benefits for radio stations at a low cost.

Jason Bryant, Nation Broadcasting’s executive chairman, said: “As streamed listening share accelerates, the in-car, connected experience becomes critical for listeners. We wanted to build a platform that is united and industry-wide.”

Joe D’Angelo, from Xperi, who was at the conference, also shared his excitement about the collaboration: “As the leading technology provider in vehicle audio, we are delighted to be working with Nation Broadcasting to build a united, commercial app. Nation Player will give broadcasters and their listeners access to the best in-car experience.”

Nation Broadcasting is a leading, independent commercial radio broadcaster in the UK, with over 750,000 weekly listeners.
