National Film and Sound Archive Conference

A two day conference in Canberra on Saturday and Sunday will examine the future of the National Film and Sound Archive, which holds a very important collection of Australia’s radio history.

The conference, which will focus on positive outcomes, will be held at the Canberra Museum and Gallery Theatre on London Circuit in the City centre.

The conference/workshop is being jointly presented by the Friends of the National Film and Sound Archive and the Australian Society of Archivists.

Speakers include Adrian Cunningham (Australian Society of Archivists), Labor senator, Kate Lundy, Susan Herbert (National Gallery) and Louise Douglas (National Museum).

All are welcome to attend, but numbers are limited. Anyone interested should email ([email protected]) or call Lucy Battersby on 0416 376 056. The cost is $20 a day (including tea, coffee and drinks).

NB: On 21 June, radioinfo carried a story on the appointment of Paolo Cherchi Usai as Archive Director and an interview with AFC Chief Executive, Kim Dalton.
