Neil Diamond FM testing in Sydney on 95.3

DMG’s new Sydney station on FM 95.3 has been dubbed Neil Diamond FM by some radio industry rivals, who have been listening to the playlist, which features Mr Diamond in every second track.

Some still think it is better than the last format broadcast on the frequency – country music.

DMG is keen to get the station on air now that the Nova network has been completed, and the beginning of tests is an indication of the next stage of activity.

Industry stirrers are predicting the over 40 targeted station will have a high percentage of Neil Diamond’s greatest hits on it when it gets to air later this year.

CEO Paul Thompson says DMG will not rush into a launch until all preparations are complete and is hoping for an extension of time if needed for the launch date. Thompson has not made any public comment on whether he is a Neil Diamond fan or not.
