Neil Mitchell wins 9th Quill

3AW has scooped the radio pool at Victoria’s top journalism awards night.

Morning host Neil Mitchell won the Quill award for Best Radio Current Affairs Report for revealing a legal loophole that allowed drivers involved in smashes avoid a drug test.

His investigation resulted in law changes – MORE HERE.

It was Neil Mitchell’s ninth Quill.

3AW police reporter Yvette Gray won a Quill for Best Radio News Report for her work on the Numan Haider case.

Meanwhile, The Age newspaper won 14 of the 28 Quills on offer, including the Gold Quill to business journalist Adele Ferguson.

The Quills are the Melbourne Press Club’s top award.
