Earlier this year Antony Green announced he was stepping back from his role as the ABC’s Chief Elections Analyst after three decades and the Federal Election.
Antony planned to stay on in a behind-the-scenes role, with Casey Briggs his successor.
However, on Friday July 3, he walked out of the ABC for the final time to enjoy a well deserved retirement.
“Antony has brought analysis, insight and clarity to dozens of federal, state and territory elections.
He has helped generations of Australians better understand elections and, in doing so, strengthened public understanding of one of the most important processes of our democracy.
His influence is embedded in our systems, tools, standards and culture, and it will continue to shape our work for many years to come.
Thank you, Antony. Congratulations on an extraordinary career.”
