M 1 have announced a handy new function in their music scheduling software Music 1, InterActive Music scheduler.

It’s a smooth way to link audio tracks to songs.

Music programmers could pre-record a lot of intros to a song, then, when it is scheduled, M1 will automatically drop in one of the intros before it.

Next time the song schedules, a different intro will play before it.

M1’s Steve Warren told radioinfo: “Other ways to use this function are… you could link artist sound-bites to specific songs… you could link a specific jingle to a song or maybe link “hit year” stagers to songs from that year.”
