New LPON licences for regional Australia

The Australian Communications Authority has allocated various Low Power Open Narrowcast licences between FM 87.0 and 88.0 around Australia, for the reserve price of $250 each after receiving only one application for each.


A company that plans to broadcast programs for children has picked up licences in Yass, Bourke, Nowra, Ulladulla, Lismore, Hamilton, Colac, Sale, Castlemaine, Portland, Whyalla and Geraldton and will operate under the title KIDS FM.

Robe River Mining Company gained a licence in Pannawonica Western Australia, United Christian Broadcasters gained a licence in Cooper Pedy. Bill Cacalis picked up a licence in Daylesford Victoria and Bradley Middleton gained a licence in Mukinbudin WA.
