NOVA Entertainment has quietly launched a couple of new shows in the evening. Novaboy’s Jamz airs from 7-8pm and Nova 9s from 8-9pm.
The two programs are currently playing out across NOVA’s metro stations in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth, following the hour recap of Ricki-Lee and Tim and preceding The Maddy Rowe Aus Music Show.
Novaboy’s Jamz is a concept that first aired in 2021, although Nova Boy (pictured) has been a mascot of sorts for the station since 2001. I had a listen and there is an announcer for the program, perhaps as per 2021 still meant to be like the Stig, a nameless freelance contributor who is hopefully not an AI clone lest they get in trouble with the ACMA.
Nova 9s is new. A spokesperson for Nova said it a countdown of the country’s 9 biggest songs and there is no official host.
Both may be place holders for the time being. Kent ‘Smallzy’ Small and Ben, Liam and Belle, all now at ARN, used to be in those timeslots.
