Joel Helmes, founder and General Manager of Tiger Management & PR and Helmes Media Solutions, has announced a new venture – a new radio school in Sydney.

Based in Padstow, Joel Helmes  says that school will provide students with “that vital first step into the industry.”

Mr Helmes, pictured, who is a qualified radio Program Director, says he has long toyed with the idea of passing on his knowledge and experience to the next generation.

“Even when I was working towards my first radio job back in the 90’s I was thinking that teaching others was what really interested me.

“The radio school isn’t an ego trip for me; I see it as a way to give back to the industry that I care so much about.

“Hopefully I can help some people who, just like all of us, need that bit of direction, encouragement, support and of course the skills to make the jump into radio,” says Mr Helmes.

The school will operate each Monday night and will expand to additional opening hours in time.

“We are starting off small, we are now looking for our first students and we hope to be well and truly up and running by the end of August,” Mr Helmes said.
