New statewide ABC regional breakfast program for WA

The ABC have launched a new Statewide Regional Breakfast hour for Western Australia, commencing March 3 and airing weekdays from 5am. The program, hosted by Stan Shaw, expands the ABC’s reach across WA, and broadcasts across regional stations ahead of their local Breakfast shows.

ABC WA Regional Editor Meghan Woods said:

“We know regional audiences turn to the ABC each morning for trusted news and meaningful conversations about the issues that matter locally, and we’re pleased to offer even more. Stan will connect communities right across the state, bringing energy and a deep appreciation for regional WA stories.”

Stan Shaw said:

“This Statewide Regional Breakfast hour will give us a chance to hear from all corners of the wonderful and fascinating place we call home.”

Local Breakfast programming commences from 6.30am, with news and Early AM airing from 6.00am, followed by the Rural Report at 6.15am, then local news headlines.

In addition, WA will also get a dedicated local Mornings program which will air from 10am to 11am weekdays across ABC South West WA, presented live from Bunbury by Chela Williams.

“The South West is one of Australia’s fastest -growing regions and home to the largest population centre outside Perth. This expanded offering will feature more local voices and take a closer look at the issues shaping the South West community .”
