Nic Healey is the new presenter for ABC Radio Victoria’s Statewide Mornings program.
He replaces Jonathon Kendall, who has moved to ABC Geelong.
Originally hailing from Deniliquin in the Riverina area of NSW, Nic joined the ABC in 2018, hosting regional breakfast radio first in Karratha, then Dubbo and more recently, in Shepparton. He began his radio career as the breakfast presenter at 2SER FM in Sydney.
Healey is “honoured and excited to be stepping behind the mic on Statewide Mornings. It’s an incredible opportunity to help share some of the amazing stories from right around Victoria.
“The team is one of the most dedicated and skilled that you could find on radio anywhere in the country — I’m looking forward to working with them.”
After nearly seven years of Breakfast radio, Healey says the extra hour of sleep is “going to feel life changing.”
ABC Regional Editor for Victoria, Toni Hetherington says the appointment reflects the ABC’s “ongoing commitment to local programming.”
“The regional Victorian audience is already familiar with Nic, who brings a wealth of experience and leadership to this role.”
Nic will be based in Shepparton and will present his first show across regional Victoria next Monday 13 January.
