After clocking up over 60 years in the industry, and after a short retirement break, Ian “Nicko” Nicholls returns to the airwaves at KLFM in Bendigo.
Starting his career in 1954 at 2LF in Young, Nicko went on to work for over 40 years in Melbourne radio at 3DB, 3XY and 3AW to name a few.
His Commercial Radio career also took him to New South Wales and Queensland as well as some country stations including BAY FM and KROCK.
In 1999, he finished up with 3AW, moved to Bendigo and anchored KLFM Breakfast for 10 years.
After a short retirement break, Nicko has returned to KLFM Bendigo for his 61st year in Radio. He has taken on the role of News Director and anchor for KLFM Local News. He is also doing fill shifts and will occasionally stand in on Breakfast.
On his return to the industry Nicko said, “Radio’s in my blood and I love being behind the mic, even after 61 years.”
