Audience numbers streaming Nine‘s live audio during week one of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games have markedly surged as fans want to keep abreast of Australia’s medal tally.
Since the first day of competition, session starts across Nine Radio’s digital devices jumped 48%, with the hours of 4am-7am, as people woke up and wanted to know what had happened or was happening overnight, showing the most significant uplift.
Nine Radio’s commentators, led by Ray Hadley, Libby Trickett, Jane Flemming and Mark Levy have used audio and visuals to bring listeners closer to the action. Total listening hours have increased by 12% since the start of the Games as has catch-up listenership, with Nine’s exclusive Olympic podcast, The Olympics Today, also seeing a 17% increase in podcast listeners since the start of the competition*.

Nine’s live audio coverage of the Paris 2024 Olympics is on nightly for the duration of the games from 7pm AEST on 2GB, 3AW, 4BC and 6PR. GfK Radio 360 Survey 5, which is likely to show a similar surge for Nine stations, is out on Tuesday August 27.
