noise festival commissions young producers

noise, the media-based youth festival happening in October this year, is currently scouting the country for young radio producers / extraordinaires to get involved with the festival both through their current station’s regular programming and through special events such as this one, with Triple J and ABC Radio.

Currently, noise is looking to commission young producers with an idea for
1. A 30 minute documentary that fits the objectives of the noise festival (to profile young creative people 25 and under)
or
2. Short (up to 7 minutes) experimental sound pieces / radio performances / radio art pieces (call them what you will)

Both pieces will be broadcast on Triple J and ABC Radio. To be commissioned you’ll need to send in a couple of examples of your previous radio work (that are at least 5 minutes in length that you have produced) plus a detailed proposal for your idea. Send in your proposal, a one-page CV and a your non-returnable demo with at least two examples of your own by June 15, 2001, to:

In another project noise and AMRAP have joined forces to make make funds available for young people involved in community broadcasting to produce new radio programming about contemporary Australian music. Amounts of up to $2,500 are available for a variety of projects – from short band profiles, to live recordings, outside broadcasts as well as new music programs and features. Applications for this project close on May 31!
