Nova 919 introduces new breakfast team to Adelaide

Nova Adelaide’s new breakfast show The Action Battle Team begins on air this week. The new show is hosted by Matt Saraceni, Dan Debuf and Maz Compton.

The trio say they are “pumped” about their new show because they’ll get two breakfasts and have the best excuse for drinking loads of coffee. And for the 21 hours a day when they’re not working, you’ll find Maz checking out Adelaide’s beaches, Matt , who has played way too much SimCity, marvelling at Adelaide’s grid layout and Dan, who doesn’t drive, booking taxi fares.

Matt, Dan and Maz were previously hosting Nova’s national nights show, and they also just finished a relief stint on breakfast at Nova in Sydney.

Maz Compton (the one from MTV who isn’t Ruby Rose) is one of Australia’s foremost entertainment reporters. She’s obsessed with snowboarding and loves fireworks.

Her natural spunk as an interviewer has put her in some unlikely but highly amusing situations; Sandra Bullock wanting to buy her cowboy boots; Wil.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas inviting her to join the band (she politely declined); going on a date with Mike Posner (who is the only official honorary member of the Action Battle Team); being sent a coffee cup and coaster set for Christmas from Jason Derulo with love; accidentally spitting on movie star Jonah Hill on the red carpet and getting the Old Spice guy’s personal digits.

Dan Debuf (rhymes with “aloof”) is a broadcaster, writer and media dilettante. Plucked from obscurity in Perth, he began radio with Nova 100 in Melbourne, working 12am-2am for zero dollars per hour. He has now risen to the dizzying height of “paid employee”. Outside of work, he has a law degree, a lego pirate ship, and a rather popular twitter account at www.twitter.com/dandebuf

Matt Saraceni is a radio broadcaster and comedian born and raised in Perth, He says he tactfully avoided being a lawyer through stand up comedy with the Big Hoo Ha improvised comedy group. His first gig in radio was driving the Nova cars around giving out vouchers to the local rollerblading rink. When he’s not in studio at Nova, Matt likes awkwardly chatting up pretty girls at the pub, riding his slightly emasculating ocean-blue scooter around Adelaide and performing standup with Australia’s exciting new sketch comedy group “The Lords of Luxury.”

Matt’s career highlights include twice losing the ACRA for ‘Best Station Produced Comedy Segment’ and interviewing the world-famous porn star, Belladonna.
