Nova makes (white) noise with new technological thingamajig

To strengthen its association with iTunes, from this week Nova listeners can download new technology to listen to tracks from White Noise, the new album from Australian rock legends The Living End.

Called “The White Noise Gizmo” by the professors at Nova’s Fun and Games Department, the technology will give exclusive streaming access to two new tracks from White Noise each day, ahead of the album’s release on Saturday.

Listeners can visit the Nova website in their state each day this week to hear:

Mon: ‘How Do We Know’ & ‘Raise The Alarm’
Tue: ‘Moment In The Sun’ & ‘Waiting For The Silence’
Wed: ‘Make The Call’ & ‘Loaded Gun’
Thu: ‘Kid’ & ‘21st Century’
Fri: ‘Hey Hey Disbeliever’ & ‘Sum Of Us’

Dean Taylor, digital content manager at Nova 969, told radioinfo,“As Australia’s leading under-40’s radio network, Nova is driven by its listeners and what they want to hear next. With this technology anyone can listen to two tracks a day exclusively this week and then buy the album from the Nova+iTunes Music Store from Saturday.

“As the Nova websites go from strength to strength, our media partners are seeing the value of the multi-platform opportunities we can offer. We’re excited to be working with Dew Process and Universal Music to dish out some brand-spanking new music from The Living End,” he said.

Nova will also be presenting The Living End’s upcoming White Noise Tour in September 2008.
