Nova has announced the Top 10 finalists in the national initiative Unhatched, a partnership between Nova, The Comedy Channel and YouTube, presented by Cool Ridge Spring Water. Unhatched is searching for someone who can make us laugh in a three minute video.
An industry judging panel of representatives from Foxtel’s The Comedy Channel, Nova 100 and Cool Ridge, watched over 300 videos to select the Top 10 finalists.
The finalists cover vastly different topics:
• Aaron tells the story of a man with facial hair and a set of forks
• Alki has fun with fast food
• Dan puts together a seedy dating video
• Sean and his mate have a strange way of expressing disbelief
• Andrew looks at the joys of renting a small apartment
• Chris expresses his love for his iPhone
• Gray’s standup comedy compares the Australian Government to the Mario Brothers
• Julia pokes fun at the traits she has inherited from her police parents
• Scott rewards a waiter for service that goes beyond the call of duty
• Marcus displays his versatility as an impersonator
Listeners can vote for their favourite Unhatched finalist at www.unhatched.com.au and could score $2000 just for voting.
The Top 10 will be profiled on Nova’s national weekend breakfast show Fitzy & Wippa and in vignettes on The Comedy Channel during the voting period.
The contestant determined, by public and industry judging panel vote, as the best overall will pocket $10,000 to further their career or passion. The winner will be announced on Tuesday 14 June.
