The world premiere of The Nugget – a new movie which will be released across Australia next week, was held in Mudgee.

The film’s producers premiered the movie in Mudgee because it had been made there using local people as extras. Nova Melbourne’s Dave O’Neill stars in Nugget with Belinda Emmett, Eric Bana and Stephen Curry.

2MG radio presenter Barbara Metsemakers who attended the premier said: “It was a pretty snazzy event with the movie’s stars coming to town for the event, along with media personalities from Sydney such as Antonia Kidman (Nicole’s Sister) and Channel 10’s Angela Bishop. I covered the event for 2MG/Real Fm – it has probably been the biggest event I have worked on since I have been here. The last 2 days has been madness with press conferences and interviews in our normally quiet town.”
