Funny how rumours start.
As we all know, Here, There & Everywhere is a Beatles song. But that’s not important right now because it’s also a media conglomerate better known as HT&E which owns (among other assets) the Australian Radio Network (ARN) and an outdoor ad specialist, Adshel.
Recently, HT&E was made an offer by a rival outdoor or “Out Of Home” specialist, oOh! Media, to buy Adshel. The board of HT&E rejected oOh!’s offer.
But, as rumour had it, oOh! didn’t go back in its shell. Instead itwas mounting a bid to take over all of HT&E and was looking for venture capitalists to take ARN off their hands. Ouch!
By Monday morning, though, HT&E had issued a statement denying that any such bid was on the table.
