Op till you drop and support Life FM in Adelaide

Life FM in Adelaide is encouraging the op-shops of the community to come together in a never-before-seen thrift market for one day only, allowing locals to ‘op till you drop,’ while also supporting vital charities and the listener-funded community radio station.

Cost of living and sustainability pressures on individuals are affecting many. A family-friendly style of market with food, coffee, local music and a kids’ play area, plus the largest selection of op-shop vendors all in the one undercover location for one
day only, is a gift that Life FM wants to give back to the community.

Life FM Operations and Fundraising Manager Lorrene McClymont said:

“Life FM is a community-funded station on a mission to spread hope throughout Adelaide. We’re proud to be involved in a range of community projects and partnerships year-round, including initiatives like Lunchbox Legends and Life FM’s Buddy Blankets. Our team is deeply passionate about reaching those who may be struggling, offering encouragement, and providing a fresh, uplifting perspective through everything we do.

The Op Till You Drop Market is an idea that’s been brewing at Life FM for some time. With the rising cost of living and a growing interest in sustainability, recycling, and making every dollar go further, we wanted to create a space that makes thrifting more accessible and fun.

As a community organisation ourselves, we’ve seen firsthand the incredible work that op shops and community organisations do behind the scenes. That’s why we’re so excited to partner with them to bring this innovative market to life—bringing together a variety of stalls and a whole lot of keen shoppers, all in one vibrant place.”

All op shops from across South Australia are welcome to apply at mylifefm.com to be a part of this first of its kind event in the heritage-listed Harts Mill flour shed at Port Adelaide. Earlybird registration ends April 24th, general registration on May 10th with the event to be held on Saturday June 7. Entry to the market is by a gold coin donation per person to support the work of Life FM in sharing positive, influential content across the airwaves.
