PD announced for Nova Perth

After months of speculation, Nova Perth has announced the appointment of UK 2001 Radio Programmer of the Year as its Programme Director.

Andrew Jeffries will have the responsibility for programming Perth’s first new commercial radio station in 22 years.

Jeffries brings to Nova 93.7 “a wealth of international and Australasian radio experience that will guarantee that Perth gets a radio station that sounds different.”

Jeffries will be joining Nova 93.7 from Chrysalis Radio in the UK, where he is responsible for Galaxy 105 Yorkshire (the largest commercial station outside of London) and Galaxy 102 Manchester.

Under his guidance, Galaxy 105 has just been voted The UK Radio Station of the Year for 2002.

Managing Director, Gary Roberts, said:

“We promised that we would bring innovative, new and exciting ideas to Perth. Rather than recycling the same old names, Andrew brings a fresh approach, depth of experience and knowledge that will change the Perth radio landscape forever. We are extremely excited to bring such an internationally recognised talent to Perth radio.”
