March 10 was Kerry Peck, better known as Pecky‘s 80th birthday. To celebrate the occasion the studio at Super Radio Network station 2BS 95.1FM in Bathurst has been renamed the Kerry Peck Studio in honour of the the man who has broadcast there since 1969 and dedicated himself to local radio and its people across the NSW Central West.

Pecky started a just few months before Ron and Stephanie Camplin purchased 2BS in 1969 and has hosted Brekky with Pecky most of the near six decades since. Pecky won Best General Announcer at the RAWARDs as the ACRAs were back then, in 1990. Most of 2BS’s Radio Appeals have been hosted by Pecky as well as him being an enthusiastic MC for local events. Pecky hosts 2BS Breakfast Monday to Friday mornings from 6am to 9.00am.
