Pegasus rides on thanks to the Mix FM Canberra

In February Pegasus (previously the Pegasus Riding School for the Disabled) looked like having to close its doors by June due to greatly diminished public and corporate donations.

But MIX 106.3’s Rod & Biggzy rallied the Canberra community over several weeks, raising both the profile of Pegasus and the vital role the organisation plays in the community and that of our special kids and families.

The campaign has generated much needed funds so that the organisation can continue for a while longer.

A large portion of those funds was raised in an online auction hosted by local company Allbids.com.au of a kitchen, supplied by Knebel Kitchens and donated by a MIX 106.3 listener.

The auction raised $13,050.00 and added to the donations already made by the Tom Efkarpidis Foundation, Thoroughbred Park, Granite Transformations and Blackett Homes plus funds raised at the Black Opal Canberra Cup meeting and Rod & Biggzy’s Ride for Pegasus.

The money has guaranteed that Pegasus will remain operating until at least December and,  in the meantime, allow the organisation to develop further revenue streams and long term partnerships which will ensure its long-term future.
